Diana Mendoza

Diana Mendoza is a native Californian who lives with her family
in the foothills of Paso Robles, California. She has received
Bachelor Degrees in Art at the University of California. Santa
Barbara and has studied with several artists in their workshops,
gaining a wide experience in classical as well as abstract theory
and design.

Like many others on her journey to becoming a full-time artist, she became engaged in a number of occupations. including the development of a skin care business on the Malay peninsula.

Diana trained the population in a "bicycle sales program" throughout the peninsula. Her fondest memories include the transformation through cosmetics of women with scars to regain confidence in their appearance. The outcome an the outside simply meeting the interior beauty these wonderful women already had on the inside.

Drawing out the interior beauty of a subject is one of Diana's gifts as an artist. The emotional content or spirit of the subject whether landscape or figurative is as important to her as the exterior view.

Diana's paintings have shown in juried shows at the gallery in the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. the University of California, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo. She has been represented in galleries in the Newport and Laguna Beach areas in California and has her work in private collections in Southern California and the Malay peninsula.

Diana's recent trip through Europe provided the inspiration for heir current collection of classical impressionist paintings- Although at times classical in nature. the paintings are always contemporary in application of rich, vibrant color and dynamic design.
