Nelvana Entertainment Animation Art
This beautiful One-of-a-Kind Animation Production Art was used in the production of an episode from the Nelvana TV series “Babar”, based on the classic books by Jean and Laurent de Brunhoff.
From 1989 through 1991, seventy-eight half-hour “Babar” episodes were developed by Nelvana, each one transporting its audience through a different heartwarming adventure of Babar, King of the Elephants, his family, and their friends in the town of Celesteville.
The fine actor, Gordon Pinsent, was the voice talent for “Babar” The King of Elephants. The animation was drawn, painted and animated by a talented group of Canadian artists at Nelvana Entertainment.
What is Animation Production Art?
Traditional animation is a multi-step process. It begins with a pencil drawing of the characters, which is created by the animator. The drawing is transferred onto an acetate cel, which is hand-painted on the reverse side. Finally, the cel is photographed in front of a painted background to be used in the final animation.
Only a small percentage of cels is complete and special enough to be appropriate for collectors of ONE-OF-A-KIND ANIMATION PRODUCTION ART.
Each piece of animation art comes complete with an official seal and Certificate of Authenticity.
This art makes wonderful gifts for children, parents, grandparents and collector’s or anyone who has ever enjoyed the beauty and imagination of animation.
