David Adshade

David Adshade’s growing career has spanned over two decades. Although an award winning graphic designer and art director by trade, David’s real passion lies in the finer arts. Among many creative interests and endeavours, mediums such as watercolour, charcoal, sculpture and even some metal work have been explored with great results. But a restlessness ensued.

A gradual shift in focus and desire over the past few years has brought David into the realm of "Industrial Abstract Impressionism." This approach involves the exploration of metal based paints with applied reactive solutions combined with traditional art materials. This leaves a truly stunning effect, both industrial looking yet aesthetically pleasing to the senses.

Unlike graphic design, where projects are usually client driven and executed with meticulous detail, this new direction offers the freedom of pure expression, unbridled by any outside influences except of course, by his natural world setting and limitless imagination. Not only has this been a liberating experience, a breath of fresh air, so to speak, but an inspiration to continue with this newly found method of art, life, and freedom.

David was the recipient of the Art Gallery of Ontario Scholarship and has recently won the Peoples Choice Award at the 2012 Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition.
